Honoring a legacy of service through community action.
REDS is a district-wide day of service hosted each spring in memory of Rick Edwards, a man whose life was defined by selfless service, leadership, and love for the people of Burnet County.
On this day, hundreds of students and volunteers from across Marble Falls ISD and the broader Highland Lakes community come together to make a tangible impact—cleaning up parks, supporting local nonprofits, blessing neighbors, and more.
This annual event is a beautiful example of what happens when schools, churches, and community members unite around a common purpose: to serve.
REDS is a collaboration between Ark of Highland Lakes and Marble Falls Independent School District. Students from every campus participate in age-appropriate projects that teach the value of community, character, and compassion.
Who Rick Edwards Was:
Rick Edwards was a longtime community leader, educator, and advocate for servant leadership in the Highland Lakes area. His example of compassion and commitment inspired generations of students and volunteers to make a difference in their neighborhoods.
"Children are the living message we send to a time we may not see."

Why Ark Participates:
Ark of Highland Lakes partners with Marble Falls ISD and local organizations to continue Rick’s mission of service. Each year, volunteers gather to complete projects that uplift individuals and strengthen our community.
